Exercise

Regular exercise is a very important part of maintaining good health for people with HIV. Exercise not only builds muscles, but also relieves stress, stimulates the appetite, and improves overall well being. Since muscle tissue is where the body stores the energy and protein needed by the immune system, it is vital that people with HIV get enough exercise to maintain muscle mass.

If you don't get enough exercise through your daily activities, you should take part in an exercise routine. Aerobic activities like walking, running, swimming, or dancing are all good options.

It is important, however, that you consult your doctor before you begin any sort of exercise program. He or she can help suggest proper muscle-building exercises for your specific health needs.
